Data migration and POS synchronization
In logistics, POS, or Point of Sale, refers to the physical or digital location where a transaction occurs between a customer and a business. In the context of inventory and supply chain management, a POS system serves as the central hub for processing sales, recording transactions, and updating inventory levels. It enables businesses to efficiently track product movement, manage stock levels, and streamline order fulfillment. By integrating with other systems, such as e-commerce platforms or warehouse management software, POS systems contribute to real-time visibility, enhancing overall operational efficiency in the logistics and retail sectors.
Outsourcify successfully executed this project, involving the meticulous migration of data from the existing website, with a specific focus on e-commerce-related information such as open orders, user accounts, and available products. To accomplish this task, we utilized the “WP All Export” plugin on the original site to export users and then employed the “WP All Import” plugin on the new site for the import. This method provided a comprehensive user list, allowing us to proceed with importing products and orders. Beginning with product import, we directly linked to our customer’s POS system to facilitate real-time inventory management across both the website and physical stores in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
This seamless integration ensures that product updates, whether from online purchases or in-store transactions, occur automatically. Subsequently, we utilized the same plugins to import orders, conducting separate operations for the Bangkok and Chiang Mai websites by connecting to their respective POS systems. With this implementation, Sloane’s staff now have the capability to manage inventory directly from the physical stores, minimizing errors and ensuring swift, automatic updates across all platforms.
