WooCommerce allows you to display products (or services) you offer on your WordPress website, and gives your website’s visitors the possibility to add them into a cart which after checkout generates an order. It’s a free WordPress plugin that gives the basis to an online store, on top of which countless additional features can be added as extensions, likely other WordPress plugins for example to manage payments and shipments.

What strikes with WooCommerce is that it’s quite easy to use and once the online store is designed, set up and installed on a trustworthy hosting platform,  it’s simple enough to allow the store owners to handle its daily use, managing the products and the orders. It is arguably not a simple task to sell online, and using the right tool is primordial, a lot of parameters come into consideration, the type of products (simple, virtual/services, downloadable etc), all of their potential variations (color, size etc), tax calculations, shipment considering location, weight, carrier,  payment gateways, and everything required to process transactions.
