- First of all, our main aim was to make the website reflect the business and industry it represents, and to that end, we utilize cutting-edge, on-trend website design that’ll keep you looking sharp online for years to come.
- Secondly, with so many e-commerce sites competing, everybody is looking for that edge that’ll set them ahead of their competitor and for most businesses. To respond to the latest market status, we focused on building a strengthened brand identity that represents WKD UK and cultivates plenty of customer loyalty.
Positive user experience
Sufficient brand introduction and storytelling with the proper design structure was absent on their old website. In addition it needed to establish its unique identity and the value which can attract its customers along with the good user experience. At first, when we studied their old website, it consisted of a lot of contexts with the absence of readability and aesthetic. We implemented the UX workshop with a client to research their main targeted users and competitors through activities such as Persona, thinking map. Based on the information we got, we built a sitemap and wireframe of every page.
UI design in order to reflect the brand identity
Balancing user needs with the priorities of the business was important while working through this project. In addition, deciding what the redesign should focus on, and what to leave behind was essential. We prioritized branding across all elements of site creation to make the website brand-centric which makes potential customers see WKD UK as a thriving e-commerce pet shop.
- Colors theme
We offered our client a modified color theme consisting of cutting-edge blue and navy colors that can give vitality to the brand. We setted up the blue color as a primary color to highlight the important components and we set up the navy color as a secondary color to use mostly for the font and secondary buttons.
- Guideline of typography
Considering the characteristics of the business field, we chose the font “Poppins” which is a roundy font style to convey a friendly image to their customers. With the absence of any guideline system for typography such as headings, subheadings and paragraphs, it seemed to be hard to keep the constancy throughout the whole website. Because of those facts, we defined the typography style before we designed every single page.
Summary of the project
Balancing user needs with the priorities of the business was important while working through this project. In addition, deciding what the redesign should focus on, and what to leave out was an essential phase of the project. Considering all those factors, we could build a user-centered website along with the satisfaction of business goals.
