We designed and developed a website as well as a extranet web application to manage student personal schedules and grades and send messages to students and instructors. It includes permission management and content management for admin.

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) wants to change the e-Registrar system that has been in use for a long time. to be better, modern and fast to use. so they decided to build a new system (web application) to replace the old system.
The main challenge here was not only to create a user friendly interface or connect with a lot of data, but also to do new features such as a single sign-On after user login can connect to another system of MFU, trial grade calculation, send messages, and find availability rooms in university.
In short, this is a new system that has been redesigned for ease of use. and developed with new technology, so it is easy to maintain. and maintenance in the future including new features that are useful to users.
Project approach and design
We started a project with analysis of the main features and the client’s pain points for doing new features through the workshop.
After the workshop we do software requirement specification (SRS) and wireframe for all the features because each feature is quite complicated, it is most important to define the perimeters of features needed in the system and clarify it between us and the client.
After we had a solid understanding of their requirements, we started UI design. The core of our work was to create a customizable set of various components such as colors, fonts, headers guide and data representations reflecting the MFU corporate identity. After that, we adopted this basic design guideline to every design elements.
Having defined the core features of the web application, we worked on creating a connection between our new system and the API Gateways in order to communicate all necessary data through our API.
After having the whole API ready, we worked on the frontend interface and created the main features for students, instructors and admin on the backend part according to the software requirement specification we’ve defined with the client.
The rather complicated part of this project is a dynamic user management system by the user roles and each feature in our system.
We have also created a Login Portal system that can access other applications in MFU or applications in the future.
