Outsourcify’s Evolution: Growth, Technology, and Strategic Shifts

A business’s longevity and success often depend on its ability to evolve and adapt continuously. Over the past decade, Outsourcify has experienced significant growth, technological shifts, and strategic developments that have shaped our identity and strengthened our market position.

And Outsourcify was born. Doesn’t look like us but I did have some hair back then.

The BOI Certification Leap

One of the most critical milestones in Outsourcify’s evolution was obtaining certification from Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI). Initially, our agency operated under the name Eklektik Web, offering standard web development services predominantly to international clients.

However, securing BOI certification allowed us substantial advantages, including tax exemptions and the ability to hire international talent more efficiently. To achieve this, we had to create a new legal entity, leading to the establishment of Outsourcify. Although this represented continuity in terms of our team (we hired all employees from the previous structure, which we closed) and services, it was a pivotal moment symbolizing our commitment to growth, innovation, and stability in Thailand.

Evolving Technologies and Service Offerings

Initially, Outsourcify focused primarily on PHP-based web applications and WordPress websites. Over time, technological advancements and market demands necessitated diversification. We expanded our services, integrating UX/UI design and analysis workshops into our core offerings. Hiring dedicated UX/UI professionals marked a strategic shift, allowing us to provide comprehensive, end-to-end digital solutions from concept through deployment.

Another notable evolution was our entry into mobile application development. Initially exploring frameworks like React Native and Flutter, we eventually added mobile solutions to our capabilities. This allowed us to provide a broader range of services, enhancing our appeal to diverse clients seeking integrated digital solutions.

From Small Agency to Robust Team

A significant aspect of our evolution has been the growth and structure of our team. Starting with just the founders, we expanded carefully to about 35 skilled professionals, deliberately choosing to maintain a manageable team size rather than uncontrolled growth. Our approach prioritizes sustainable team development, ensuring we maintain high quality and personalized service.

Over the years, we’ve cultivated a nurturing environment where team members can grow, explore new technologies, and transition between roles, such as developers moving into project management or business analysis. This flexibility has been vital in retaining talented professionals and keeping motivation high.

Training on React Native when it was still in beta was one example of how we encouraged our team to discover new technologies (it’s quite something that, even after all these years, the framework still hasn’t reached version 1!). Python and Node.js are also technologies that our team picked up specifically for large projects, and we’ve continued using them ever since.

Several of our web developers have gradually evolved into management roles over the years—and that’s the best way to have project managers who understand the coders. We even have a case where one developer chose to return to coding after realizing that managing wasn’t as simple as it seemed.

Building a Backbone: Delegating Operations to Focus on Growth

One of the most transformative steps in Outsourcify’s growth was recognizing that we couldn’t—and shouldn’t—do everything ourselves. In the early years, as founders, we juggled client work, sales, and the burdens of office management, accounting, and HR. It was unsustainable: chasing late payments, negotiating salaries, and handling day-to-day operations drained time we needed for strategic projects and business development. The turning point came when we decided to build an administrative team around someone we could trust implicitly. Enter Nuey (Kherika), a rare gem who took the reins of finances, office and staff with remarkable skill. With her leadership, we delegated these critical functions confidently, freeing ourselves to focus on scaling the business. Today, I’m grateful not to scrutinize spreadsheets or send payment reminders; instead, we have a dedicated team ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. This shift wasn’t just about efficiency—it was about sanity, sustainability, and finally letting go of tasks that others could do better.

Adapting Business Models

Another significant shift involved adapting our business model to client needs. Initially, our projects were mostly fixed-price engagements based on specific deliverables. As our skills and project complexity grew, we increasingly adopted agile methodologies and flexible “squad pricing” structures, enabling clients to engage dedicated teams of experts on an ongoing, monthly basis. This agile approach aligns more closely with contemporary software development practices and has been well-received by clients.

Strategic Growth and Future Outlook

Reflecting on our journey, it’s clear that adaptability, innovation, and strategic thinking have been fundamental to our longevity. The constant evolution in technology, team structure, and service models has helped Outsourcify stay relevant and competitive in a fast-changing market.

As we continue our journey, we remain committed to exploring new technologies, refining our methodologies, and nurturing our team—ensuring Outsourcify’s ongoing success well into the future.

In the upcoming article, we’ll delve deeper into our strategies for staying ahead of technological advancements and innovation in web development.
