Sylius is e-commerce for the Symfony framework
We utilize it at our web agency to build e-commerce websites as a dedicated solution for specific high-performance business e-Commerce demands (where Magento, Woocommerce, or Prestashop will not be adapted) and/or for sites with a media/content component by easily tying it to Symfony.
Sylius has been developed by a team in Poland for 10 years, and greatly evolved since, in parallel with the Symfony framework ecosystem, it has only recently gained traction as an enterprise solution for e-commerce needs, with early users in France, Germany, and the United States. Sylius has already been downloaded more than 8 million times, has more than 500 contributors – developers and more than 2700 users.
A headless e-commerce API + store management interface
Sylius includes the data structure needed to handle most e-commerce use cases (Product, Attributes, Variants, Bundles, Taxonomies, Customer, Cart/Order, Shipping Methods, Payment Methods, Coupons etc) as well as a REST API provided by the excellent API Platform Symfony library which makes it easy to use it as a headless e-commerce system, for a classic website, a PWA applications or a mobile application. The shop interface can then be fully customize to any requirements and use any frontend technology, but likely a Javascript frontend framework such as Vue/Nuxt, React/Next or VueStoreFront.
Sylius comes with a back office, a user interface to manage your store which is simple to use and allows for efficient content management: it’s clear and without frills and above all easily extensible.
Sylius for B2C/B2B Marketplaces
Sylius in combination with a PIM (PIM product Information Management, such as Akaneao or Pimcore) allows you to develop specific marketplaces projects where classic SaaS solutions show their limits.

Our experience as a Sylius e-commerce CMS agency
We have developed to date several large-scale projects with Sylius which totals more than 1000 developer hours. We particularly created shops with subscriptions based concepts, click and collect, autoship services (products which are automatically ordered/shipped at defined intervals), custom features to give automated advices on product purchases. Of course we developed custom payment gateway connectors (for Omise for example) and connectors for shipping third parties.
