The Outsourcify Story #8: The Next Decade—Our Vision for Sustainable Growth

After more than a decade, Outsourcify is still independent, still based in Bangkok and still run by its founders. The obvious question is what we want the company to become next.

The answer is not “as large as possible.” We want to remain an excellent software agency, take a more active role in selected products and create room for our team to grow without building layers of management for their own sake.

Bangkok, Then and Now

When we launched Outsourcify, Bangkok’s tech ecosystem was still finding its shape. Today, it’s a fast-moving, competitive, and increasingly international scene. We’ve seen foreign-founded agencies spring up, Thai startups scale fast, and a constant tug-of-war for top-tier design and development talent.

Some agencies we knew grew quickly — a few backed by investment, some scaling to hundreds of employees. Some succeeded. Others, unfortunately, grew too fast and collapsed under pressure. We learned early on that rapid growth isn’t always smart growth.

Staying Independent, Staying Human

Growth for its own sake has never been our goal. We have watched agencies scale to hundreds of people; some succeeded and others became difficult to sustain. That is not the only model available to us.

Outsourcify is managed by the couple who built it. The founders remain accessible and accountable, while project leads and our administrative team make the day-to-day decisions in their areas. At our largest we were close to 45 people including interns. We found that 35–40 is a better fit: enough people for substantial projects, but few enough that we still know the work and the people doing it.

Scaling far beyond that would require a different management structure and a different kind of company. We may reconsider one day, but it is not our current objective.

Evolving the Business Model: from Service Provider to Strategic Partner

Our headcount may remain stable while the business model changes. We increasingly work as a product partner rather than a supplier executing a specification. In a small number of cases, we make a deliberate co-investment or include equity in the commercial arrangement because we know the founders, understand the product and accept the risk.

We plan to develop this agency–startup-studio model carefully. Client services remain the core business; investment projects must be selective enough that they do not compete with the attention owed to paying clients.

At the same time, we’ve begun launching our own in-house products. One of them, Aroi Restaurants, is a restaurant reservation platform we’ve been building for over a year, after obtaining the partnership with Reserve With Google. It’s not just a tech product — it’s also a growing food media and directory that we aim to expand across Thailand. Aroi Restaurants has opened the door to new industries, new networks, and a fresh way for us to think about product design, marketing, and business development.

Embracing Emerging Technologies (Selectively)

AI, automation and new frameworks will continue to change our work. We pay attention, but we do not adopt a tool merely to add its logo to the website.

We are already evaluating AI-assisted development, headless content systems, performance-focused frameworks such as Astro and cross-platform tools such as Flutter. The standard is practical: does it improve the product, can our team support it, and will the choice still make sense after launch?

Southeast Asia: Our Base, Our Future

Bangkok has been our base for over a decade. That experience can help international companies building for Thailand or the wider region: our team understands local users and business practices while working daily with clients in Europe, the United States and Australia.

We do not want to overstate this as expertise in every ASEAN market. Our strongest knowledge is Thailand, supported by a multilingual team and a network that reaches further across Southeast Asia. Bangkok remains the right base for that work and for our international client relationships.

We’ve also seen more and more people come to Thailand to build their lives — some staying for a few years, others putting down long-term roots. We believe Southeast Asia will continue to grow as a hub for digital business, and Bangkok remains the ideal base for us.

That said, most of our clients are international, and that will remain true. We’ve built a strong reputation among clients in Europe, the US, and Australia — and our growth continues to be fueled by referrals and returning partners.

What We Have Learned to Protect

We have become better at saying no: to work we cannot serve well, to growth that would weaken the company and to technology chosen only for novelty. The rewarding part is seeing a former intern lead work, watching a product become real and knowing that clients return because the first collaboration worked.

Four Commitments for the Next 10 Years

  1. Develop people for the long term. Keep the hybrid model, mentoring and internal career moves that have allowed interns and junior developers to become senior contributors and project leads.
  2. Choose projects carefully. Continue client services, launch more internal products where we understand the problem, and consider co-investment only when the relationship and risk are clear.
  3. Protect quality as we grow. Judge progress by stronger work and longer relationships, not headcount alone.
  4. Adopt technology with a reason. Expand our AI, automation, data and consulting capabilities when they solve a real client or regional problem and when we can support them responsibly.

A Final Word

We cannot predict the next decade, especially in this industry. We can choose how to approach it: remain independent, keep learning, and build with people whose work and judgment we trust. That is less dramatic than a promise to become the largest agency in the region. It is also much closer to the company we have spent the last decade building.
